How to import subscribers into Klaviyo
Importing subscribers into Klaviyo is a simple process that can be done in just a few steps.
To start, log in to your Klaviyo account and navigate to the “Lists & Segments” tab. From here, click on the “Import List” button located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
Import subscribers using CSV or XLSX files:
Once you have prepared your list of subscribers in CSV format, follow the next steps:
- Navigate to the Lists & Segments tab in Klaviyo
- Click on the list called Newsletter
- Click Manage List > Import Contacts
- Drag and drop your CSV directly into Klaviyo or select it from your files
- Review the data you’re importing and map all rows to a Klaviyo or custom property
- If everyone in your CSV file has explicitly consented to receive email marketing from you, click Subscribe to Email Marketing
- Click Import Review and review your import details
- Click Start Import
Next, select the file that contains your subscriber information. The file should be in a CSV or XLSX format.
Once you have selected your file, Klaviyo will prompt you to map the columns in your file to the appropriate Klaviyo fields. This step is important because it ensures that the subscriber information is correctly imported into Klaviyo.
After you have completed the mapping, click on the “Import” button to start the import process. Klaviyo will display a progress bar to show the status of the import, and once the process is complete, your subscribers will be imported into Klaviyo.

How to export subscribers from Klaviyo
Exporting subscribers from Klaviyo is just as easy as importing.
To start, log in to your Klaviyo account and navigate to the “Lists & Segments” tab. From here, click on the “Export List” button located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
Next, select the list that you want to export. If you have multiple lists, make sure you select the correct one.
Then, choose the fields that you want to include in the export. You can choose from various options such as email, first name, last name, and more.
Finally, click on the “Export” button to download the file. T
he file will be in a CSV format and can be easily opened in a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. This makes it easy to manipulate the data or to use it in another platform.

It depends based on the size of the list or segment.
If you don’t see the export file appear immediately, within several minutes you should see the file appear as a download in your browser.
