If you are selling flowers, chocolate, gifts or love potion you are starting your best period of the year. Good luck!
Valentine’s Day tips as the kickoff for all years holidays. After the January pause, now marketing is under pressure to deliver results (aka sales). Email marketing is the best channel to do this, because it offers an acceptable and clear-cut venue for selling.
1. Use social media to increase campaign reach.
An established social media presence will smooth and enhance the path to direct communication. From there, your customers will be more tolerant to email pitches.
2. Segment user lists
Split by gender. No lady wants to receive after-shave or men to get a hair dye. For V-Day, keep it simple: men and women, then by age, because age is relevant in here. Don’t forget the baby-boomers, they still love each-other.
3. Add more value to your content
Valentine’s Day is more personal and more emotionally fraught. Be helpful for your customers. Give them gift ideas, offers for men, women and why not both.
What I could remember is a special night in the hotel with jacuzzi, breakfast in bad and late check-out!
4. Create combo-offers with partners
Maybe you sell lingerie. Or you have a restaurant. Have you think about providing a special package where you give 20% discount on the whole?
Flowers with a dinner for two. Some roses with a corset. (By the way, men spend double than women these days)
5. Adapt your email templates
Maybe you’re the most sober business. Blue and white only. These days you definitely need some red and some hearts. (They go well with blue anyway)
6. Setup a mailing schedule
Start early with planning. Announce your campaigns on every marketing channel. All your outgoing emails should include your special campaigns.
7. Run a V-day draw with a special gift for two
This allows you to collect emails and increase your subscribers list. Must do for all special occasions.
Happy celebration!
